Romuald Wadagni, born June 20, 1976 in Lokossa (Benin), is Benin's Minister of State for the Economy and Finance. He was appointed on April 7, 2016 in President Patrice Talon's first government and reappointed to this post in May 2021, with the rank of Minister of State.
Romuald Wadagni is a chartered accountant qualified in France and the USA. He also holds a Master's degree in Finance and has specialized training in private equity and venture capital.
Prior to his appointment as Benin's Minister of Economy and Finance in 2016, Romuald Wadagni had extensive international experience with Deloitte. Working in France from 1998, then in the United States from 2003, he developed cutting-edge expertise in a number of fields, serving clients in a variety of sectors (Mining, TMT, Financial Sector, Public Sector, Retail) and various governments and donors.
In 2012, at the age of 36, he was promoted to partner at Deloitte, a major recognition of his multicultural background, his expertise, his mastery of European, American and African economic issues and the quality of his international network.
In 2015, Deloitte entrusted him with the creation of a new entity in the Democratic Republic of Congo, and he was also appointed Audit Manager and Professional Practice Director for all Deloitte activities in French-speaking Africa.
